Abstract/Summary

The project study entitled Z-80 Microprocessor based electro-mechanical programmable grain weighing and filling system deals with the interfacing of several weighing scales with a microprocessor, and the microprocessor with several electro-mechanical equipment. The main objective is to centralize production process in the industry by incorporating a number of weighing scales into one filling system. It involves 2 major aspects, the analog to digital conversion and the microprocessor control. The analog to digital conversion includes the following:1. A reliable load cell transducer for convertion of force to its corresponding voltage.2. Amplifiers to boost the voltage to desired levels.3. A high speed analog to digital converter, with multiplexed input. The microprocessor control includes the following:1. Queueing of the incoming signals.2. Control of the hatches when the desired weight is achieved.3. Monitoring the keyboard input.4. Feedback to the user through the LCD display and indicators.
