Abstract/Summary
The implementation of the Philippine Mental Health Law has bolstered the mental healthcare services provided by the government for postpartum women which includes counseling, intervention, and check-ups. The purpose of this research is to identify the mental healthcare services received by maternal women in the public healthcare facility of the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital. Twelve interviews among doctors, nurses, and midwives were conducted within the selected hospital to assess the availability of mental healthcare services. This study aims to enable a discussion regarding postpartum mental health and to understand the mental healthcare services available in the selected public healthcare facility in order to prompt a more effective and sustainable cooperation between postpartum women and the services available to them.
