Abstract/Summary

This study made use of the descriptive design. The researchers made series of in depth interviews to six middle aged male homosexuals and six female homosexuals. Life experiences of middle aged homosexuals include their preparation for old age, problems they encounter, coping mechanisms, people who help them, regrets in life, and achievements. Both male and female homosexuals prepare more financially for their old age. Problems of female homosexuals are personal, emotional social, and financial. Male homosexuals have more socially related problems. Coping mechanisms of male homosexuals are going our with friends, and concentrating on their work. Female homosexuals concentrate on their jobs. Being flexible and optimistic are the characteristics possessed by male homosexuals. On the other hand, being strong is the characteristic of most female homosexuals. People who help female and male homosexuals are their friends. Regrets of both male and female homosexuals are different from one another. Achievements of both male-and female homosexuals are personal.
