Abstract/Summary
The Computer Numerical Control is one of the most valuable aid in manufacturing today. With the Philippines aiming for global competitiveness, an attempt to develop the CNC technology in the country is needed.
The CNC retrofitting of the lathe machine consists of two major components: the motor control and the feedback.
Installed on the two axes of motion of the lathe machine, these components control the motion direction and displacement of the DC motors, and are linked to a computer for proper manipulation.
The project, though basic, is a powerful typical CNC model. It is a properly designed control system with a software-hardware link that can control the movement of the lathe machine.
