Abstract/Summary

This study attempts to describe the job attitude and job satisfaction of managers before and after the event of promotion. Purposive sampling was employed in getting the respondents for the study. Subjects of this research consisted of 52 mid-managers to managers who have been promoted for the past six months to 1 year. The researchers made use of a survey questionnaire as a means of gathering the data. Descriptive statistics was used to discover the job attitudes and job satisfaction of the respondents before and after promotion. Pearson's r was employed to correlate the variables job attitude before promotion, job attitude after promotion, job satisfaction before promotion and job satisfaction after promotion. Finally, the Student's t-test was utilized to obtain the difference between the means of the variables. Results of this study indicate that there is a high correlation between job attitude before and after promotion. Likewise, the job satisfaction before and after promotion was also highly correlated. However, the findings of this study are limited to the sample due to the insignificance of the difference between means.
