Abstract/Summary
An investigation of the heat transfer considerations in a small-scale incubator was done in order to formulate the theoretical heat transfer equations which would be used in the design, fabrication and experimentation of the incubator.Different theoretical designs of incubators were considered from which one suitable design was chosen to be fabricated. The incubator was tested for 'balut' making and hatching of the ducklings. During the tests, the temperature at different positions, inside and outside the incubator were measured. From this, heat losses due to conduction, convection and radiation, and water and eggs wer obtained and compared with theoretical considerations of the same nature.
