Abstract/Summary
Operation : GAEA is a simulation of the Veritech Fighter, a non-existing combat fighter which is featured in the movie cartoon Macross . The Veritech Fighter is a multi-form, multi-role combat fighter which can convert to one of three forms. This simulation aims to demonstrate efficient algorithms used in three-dimensional graphics. The primary aim of this system is to prove that Filipinos could develop their own software, comparable to their Asian counterparts. It provides a realistic simulation of the Veritech Fighter by means of applying the principle of aerodynamics. It also features an action role-playing game wherein the actions and decisions of its players determine their fate and the story's final outcome. Further recommendations such as the following: (1) allowing multiple players to participate in the game by the use of a network (2) providing numerous, exciting and complex missions, and applying texture-mapping so that the sceneries will look more realistic therefore will greatly enhance the simulation.
