Abstract/Summary

Ferrocement is a thin-wall composite material reinforced with closely spaced, multiple layers of wire mesh and steel rods. Ferrocement can be used in a wide variety of structures which includes applications in boat-building and housing. This project study will prove that ferrocement roofing can be used for low cost housing. In doing so, this project study gives several alternative ferrocement roofing designs and their cost analysis. The project study will show that, in general, ferrocement roofing costs less than conventional Galvanized Iron roofing. It should, however, be noted that the project study is only limited to the model house designs provided by the N.H.A.
