Abstract/Summary
According to the Japanese legend, there is an invisible red string that is tied around the little fingers of two people destined to be together (iESmedia). The red string may stretch and/or tangle, but it is unbreakable, hence fate cannot be altered (Liu 9). This is a reflection of fatalism, the belief that everything is predetermined (Rivera). The new woman's film genre deals with the independent woman and female friendship (Hollinger 1). Consequently, this feature film will be about a girl who has the power to see the red strings. However, this ability leads her to the crossroads between friendship and destiny.
