Abstract/Summary

Pamilya Dimagiba is a twenty (20) minute feature film that focuses on the Dimagiba family and how they resolve their issues on a fateful stormy night. The film is a social commentary and mainly mirrors the dynamics of a Filipino family who is stuck in a technology-driven life.

The Dimagiba family is a middle class family living in Tandang Sora, Quezon City. They are too close and are often absorbed by electronic devices which their life revolves around on. Papa Doy spends his time reading the news online and watching do-it-yourself videos Mama Landa loves streaming her favorite Korean dramas Sunshine clings to her mobile phone as if it were 'her life' while Rain masters computer and mobile games. Each family member's attachment and dependence on a certain gadget reflect what they yearn for in real life.

Due to a stormy night, the flood enters their house and electricity gets cut off. At first, they experience withdrawal due to the absence of the internet and their gadgets, but this situation leaves them no choice but to reconnect as a family. They will grudgingly do their best to communicate and survive, and in the process, rekindle their relationship.
