Abstract/Summary
In year 2000, the member states of the United Nations created the much prioritized Millennium Development Goals, which covers issues regarding development such as health, environment, gender equality, poverty reduction, education, human rights and fair trade. The Philippines and the European Union as members of the United Nations are committed to pursue these said goals by the year 2015. These goals mostly benefit those countries who are least developed and also countries who are still developing, such as the Philippines.
This research seeks to provide a framework that will encapsulate the interdependent relationship of the Philippines, as a recipient of development aid and the European Union as the benefactor for development. This study focuses on the relationship of the Philippines and the European Union as both beneficiaries under this framework.
This research will give importance to the correlation of the Philippines and the European Union regarding the issues on trade (development) and good governance and how both acts and benefits in answering the said issues.
