Abstract/Summary
The controlled switching of appliances through SMS and computer is created to give convenience to home owners, giving them the accessibility of switching on and off certain appliances in a room. Through SMS communication with the system based in the house, the owner still has the control over the appliances even when he/she is not at home. With the use of this system, appliances will not be left unattended, home owners can minimize their energy consumption and monitoring of energy usage may be done. This paper will discuss the implementation process. In the procedure, programs and system functions will be explained. Applications and recommendations were also cited to further improve the system and maximize capabilities.
