Abstract/Summary

This is an initial study into digital signal processing of various test waveforms that are introduced into the PC through an interface card. The general purpose of this undertaking is to be able to come up with the characteristic graphs for each predetermined test signals that are either inputted via interface card or computer simulated. Applications of this study can be seen in various computer operated systems, where DSP operations are necessary.Computer-generated simulations of the different test waveforms (sine, square, sawtooth, sum of two sines and distorted sine waves) were used to test the program. The program accepts the inputted signal and truncates it to one cycle. The frequency response of the signal is then attained through Fast Fourier Transform and from this, the magnitude and energy spectra are derived. These responses are then displayed on screen with options of saving them in separate files for further study.
