Abstract/Summary

The Computer Based PCB Tester offers a better means of controlling the quality of etched PCBs. The primary function of this tester is to decide whether a certain sample passes or fails the inspection. The complete module is capable of testing a single-sided PCB with a maximum of 144 test points. The system uses the self-learn method wherein the computer sends a test voltage to a node and all the other nodes are tested for continuity. The result of the testing would be displayed on the monitor indicating a pass or a fail. The heart of the system is the Bed of Nails Module and the two interface cards. The PCB sample to be tested is placed on the Bed of Nails Module while the interface cards are responsible for data acquisition. The Computer Based PCB Tester uses a graphical output wherein the location of the errors would be seen by the operator. A graphical screen interfaces the user to the software.
