Samples were collected once a month and were studied for their physical (surface temperature, depth, transparency, current velocity, total suspended solids, total dissolved solids) chemical (pH, dissolved oxygen content, total alkalinity, total hardness, nitrate content, orthophosphate content) as well as a biological (biochemical oxygen demand) characteristics. In most cases, the observed results of the different parameters showed that the prescribed standards for Class AA were met except for BOD, pH and orthophosphate content of the water samples.
