Abstract/Summary
An eighteen-minute short satire film about an ordinary twenty-two-year old woman that is aspiring to be a famous vlogger. She becomes viral on social media after being known as the oh yeah girl. She does all that it takes to keep her fame by creating entertaining and ridiculous contents for her followers. Later on, the social media influencer struggles just to be accepted by society and loved by her followers. Felicia will do everything for the gram and to gain everyone attention although what is she willing to sacrifice to obtain the validation that she desires?
The filmmakers came up with Iridescent to raise awareness to its audience by showing the grim reality of how social media could affect each individual differently. Be it positively or negatively. The goal of the film is to convey a powerful message to the millennials which is the key to happiness is not by pleasing everyone and fitting to societal standards. The team wanted to inspire people in a way that they should accept themselves for who they are and that the only validation that they need will come from themselves.
