Abstract/Summary

This study aims to present the effects of the father's infidelity on children in 4 main aspects: mental, emotional, social, and future outlook in marital and familial life. The researchers conducted an in-depth interview with eleven participants, 4 of which were males and 7 of which were females in order to gather comprehensive and rich data. Content and thematic analyses were employed by the researchers to facilitate them in categorizing the subjects' responses. In this study, the positive effects outweighed the negative ones in terms of the overall performance and attitude of the subjects toward life. The impact of marital infidelity on students of the collegiate level seem to be less grave as compared to the subjects of past studies. The male subjects' outlook and coping strategies were quite similar to those of the females' who manifested the ability to move on from the crisis by freely pursuing their goals and having a bright vision of what lies ahead of them. There were differences between gender, however, they were not deemed notable.
