Abstract/Summary

Carinderia sa 5th is a drama television series that is grounded on how a typical Filipino family remains intact despite the presence of personal and financial difficulties. Family values under the light of Filipino culture were highlighted in the story. Those values were fundamental on how each family member took a stand on the issue that they were trying to resolve. Each of them played a vital role in either strengthening or disintegrating the family's relationship and beliefs. The battle between family legacy and wealth was the main conflict of the story. The existing problem regarding the degradation of traditions due to the ever-evolving society and western influences were also presented. There is a struggle for a closely-knit relationship and it was prolonged due to the differences of beliefs among characters. It was a web of family issues that almost seemed impossible to resolve. But the point that the story was trying to arrive at is the fact that familial love transcends all things.
