Abstract/Summary

Finding a parking slot around the vicinity of the campus was very difficult due to low availability and high demands. During peak hours, students and faculty personnel were having difficulties finding an available parking slot that leads to traffic congestion along the area. In this study, the researchers developed a mobile application that provided drivers a real-time parking availability counter that informed the drivers of the current availability of the parking area within the considered limitation of this study. The researchers set-up a mechanically operated ultrasonic sensors that observed and tallied the actual count of the cars that entered end exited the parking facility. The data gathered were directed to a mobile application that the users viewed. Followed by an impact analysis on the effectiveness and efficiency of the parking experience of the users through a comparison of the data to the past parking index studies on the assigned parking facilities Br. Andrew Gonzales, Enrique Razon Sport Complex, Green Court Parking, Barn, ad Beach parking. A survey was conducted to know the effectiveness and service quality of the mobile application.
