Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. Pal-Z Incorporated is a corporation that is formed so as to cater to the needs of the consumers. It is located 2719 Interior 8 Lico Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila. The company's product is called the Pong Tulog- a stuffed toy containing a pillow and comforter. The Pong Tulog is designed mainly for sleeping purposes. More importantly, it is unique compared to other sleeping products, since there is nothing like it in the market. The fact that is it a three-in-one product proves this point.

The primary market of the Pong Tulog is that of the female students staying in dormitories located in Metro Manila specifically Residencia, Immaculate Conception, Hungry Pack, Ed, Kamia Residence Hall and La Residencia. The total population of the primary market is 1147 and from which, a sample size of 288 respondents was determined by systematic random sampling. This is also the number of survey questionnaires which were issued by the proponents to the target market, so as to obtain valuable information about the market's perception about the Pong Tulog. Upon the completion of the survey, the data gathered were thoroughly analyzed. The market acceptability rate of the Pong Tulog was computed to be 60.87% net of conservatism rate for the primary target market. An overwhelming majority 90% of the respondents found the product to be unique, with 255 out of 288 of the total respondents willing to buy the product. The monthly potential demand was determined to be approximately 77 units. Finally, the market share of Pal-Z Incorporated for the Pong Tulog is deemed to be 98.70%.

Using the time and motion study, the proponents determined that the most effective method would be the assembly line wherein each of the proponents would be assigned specific tasks to be fulfilled. The manufacturing process of the Pong Tulog is as follows: the cutting and tracing all the textile materials needed for shell, head and legs, pillow and comforter, the sewing of the pillow and comforter and head and legs the quality of the top and base shell the attachment of all the part of the Pong Tulog and finally, the pasting of the pair of moving eyes. After the production process is done, the packaging which is that of the paper bag, would be used to contain the product.

Within one production day, an average of 11 units of the product can be produced Maximum output is 19 units while the minimum output is 3 units. The cycle time for the production of one unit of Pong Tulog is approximately 43.64 minutes, with the percentage of efficiency at 92%. The production cost per unit was computed to be P 402.75, while the selling price of the product is determined to be P699 with consideration to the product unit cost and the market's willingness to buy the product.

Corporation is the type of business ownership that the proponents have chosen because of its perceived advantages. The name of the corporation, Pal-Z Incorporated, was chosen because of the deep friendship shared among the proponents thus, the name pals. The corporation will exist for 10 months, in which the proponents themselves will be the stockholders and the Board of Directors. Each one of the proponents is given specific duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled and each are also subject to rules and regulations set by the corporation.

Several financial assumptions were also made by the proponents so as to be followed during the entirety of the company's existence. The proponents will finance the business through investing respective capital so as to serve as the starting capital of the corporation. Borrowing from financial institutions will not be allowed. The total project cost computed to finance the operations for the months of October and November is P54,000. Various budgets were also estimated so as to have an idea about the amounts of expense to be incurred by the company. Projected financial statements were also provided to show the expected income of the business entity and the assets of the corporation. Pal-Z Incorporated is expected to generate a net income of P 190,563.03 at the end of its existence. The ROI is 352.89% while the ROE is 77.92%. These figures signify that the business is indeed profitable and that the corporation is able to manage and utilize the assets very efficiently.

Also included in the study is an analysis of several socio-economic factors such as the utilization of raw materials, proper waste disposal, employment contribution, economic help, payment of taxes and charitable help. The proponents then are considered to be socially responsible when they are able to contribute to societal improvements.

In conclusion, the company, the Pal-Z, Incorporated is well-equipped with appropriate instruments so as to achieve common organizational goals.
