Abstract/Summary
In the Philippines, parking is a problem. Wrong parking usage can lead to blind turns and can cause traffic accidents. It can also lower the level of service of a road.
Objectives of the study is to evaluate whether the establishments followed the provisions in the National Building Code of the Philippines regarding off-street parking supply or not and determine if the parking supply of the establishments are enough to satisfy the parking demand that they create.
Data were all gathered by using the plate technique and survey questionnaires. With the use of the data and analyzing it, the researchers managed to understand the parking characteristics of different types of establishments.
Recommendations for revision on the provisions regarding off-street parking supplied by establishments in the National Building Code of the Philippines are found in this study.
This study can help in understanding about the parkers' characteristics regarding parking in the studied area. It could also help lessen traffic congestion and could clear sidewalks of on-street parking."
