Abstract/Summary
This thesis entitled A simple prototype of an electronic guiding cane for the visually challenged is an obstacle detection and prevention device. It is designed to be used by the visually impaired for navigational purposes. Besides maneuvering away from obstacles with the use of its electronic and mechanical components, this piece of equipment is capable of sensing and warning the user of depressions and elevations along its pathway.
