Abstract/Summary
The potential of using locally available root crops such as gabi, sweet potato, cassava, and yam as main component for media for preparation for Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus sajor-caju was determined. Based on the growth rate and the dry weight (g) of mycelia, Cassava Dextrose Agar (CDA) was found to be a more suitable substitute of PDA for Pleurotus ostreatus, and Gabi Dextrose Agar (GDA) and Yam Dextrose Agar (YDA) are both suitable for Pleurotus sajor-caju.
