Abstract/Summary
This study examines the concept of exile based on Bienvenido N. Santos novel What The Hell For You Left Your Heart in San Francisco. With the characters David Dante Tolosa, Dr. Pacifico Sotto and Prof. Arturo Jaime, I used the theory of deconstructive in analyzing the concept of exile. This paper argues that there are multiple instances in exile, not just the common misconception of forced isolation. It can be seen that there is bliss and willingness on being isolated. It is also felt by a Filipino among his fellowmen, not just with the presence of foreigners.
