Abstract/Summary
This research aimed to verify the changes on prosocial behavior of preschool children through the use of bibliotherapy in the classroom. The respondents of this research are sixteen (16) four-to-six year old preschool students with low prosocial behavior. They had undergone three weeks of bibliotherapy - with 4 different storybooks. Preschool Social Behavior Scale - Teacher (PSBS-T) form was used to rate their pre and post prosocial behavior by their teachers. Furthermore, Wilcoxon signed ranks test and content analysis were used to measure the effectiveness of the implemented bibliotherapy to preschool students in the classrooms to enhance prosocial behavior. The results of the study had shown the improved changes of prosocial behavior of preschool children after the bibliotherapy which was regarded as statistical significant (z=1.814, N-ties=11, p=.035, one-tailed).
