Abstract/Summary

This thesis project is a computer-aided instruction about biomedical equipments. This courseware is divided into six sections. These are Basic Electronics, Basic Electrical Safety, Basic Troubleshooting Process, Nursing Equipment, Laboratory Equipment and Operating Equipment. The project includes discussions on equipment description, parts and function, procedural operation, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. Equipments included are cardiac monitor, electrocardiograph machine, defibrillator, centrifuge, microscope, spectrophotometer, sterilizer, anesthesia machine and electrosurgical generator. Lectures are presented using HTML pages along with animations and videos. The project integrated Moodle as its platform for content management system. This courseware is available online and also in standalone versions.
