Abstract/Summary

This thesis will attempt to explain the measures adopted by the European Union in order to address the problem of unemployment in the era of globalisation in its Member States and how did this Community laws influence the course of labour situation in Italy, which had one of the lowest employment rates among the European Union countries. The flaws of globalisation have been addressed systematically by the European Union and through communication, set of rules and agreements, the institution affect the labour policy being set by its Member States. The measures that the Institution impose on the Member States, affect them to achieve an absolute gain which is better employment situation throughout the Community, will eventually bring economic benefits to the Community as a whole.
