Abstract/Summary

Ma'am Elena is a drama screenplay for a roughly 70-90 minute film. It is a story of a young public school teacher, named Elena Bayani, who becomes a victim of persecution for being a prostitute in the past. With the two interesting separate worlds of a teacher and a prostitute combined in one principal character, this play shows the oppressive conditions of the public education system and women involved in prostitution in our country. Furthermore, the story depicts the illegal means that less fortunate people have to go through just to achieve their goals in life and how a former prostitute can still serve as a role model and promote honesty and integrity.
