Abstract/Summary

Years ago, traditional advertising was the focus of promoting a specific product, but this is no longer the situation today in Metro Manila. Given our economic situation, and the availability of advancements in technology, television commercials, radio and print ads are no longer the primary means of promoting a product or a brand to the market. In the present times, there is the introduction of events in the society. And since more people are into going out these days, event management has evolved into a lifestyle for people, especially for the younger generation. They prefer to hang out, and events that they witness become their TV or radio - it has moved from traditional advertising. In terms of conducting and executing an event, the challenge is how to make an event different from what people have seen already. Now, it's the responsibility of the event organizers to pull off a successful event.

This paper concentrated on the degree of influence of each of the five success phases in event management, as well as, determined the most influential success phase in the conduct of events. These five success phases include Research Phase, Design Phase, Planning Phase, Coordination Phase, and Evaluation Phase. In line with this, each of the phases has its own set of factors that contributes to its respective phase. Each of the factors would then be used as variables to examine whether the phase is critical to the overall success of a corporate event of not.

For the presentation of the data results, the group presented multiple tables that show the answers of the event organizers for each factor in the survey by using the Z test of Proportion and the degree of influence of each of the success phases as well. As for the analysis of the obtained results, it compared Z value of the factor with the Lower Critical Value a = .01 in order to identify whether factor is critical to its phase or not. Then using the arithmetic average, it would arrive at the degree of influence of each of the phase in the conduct of events management. In a nutshell, by doing these, the researchers have answered the problem statement as well as the objectives of the study. Coordination Phase is the most influential phase of all the success phases with an average of 4.755 followed by Design Phase with 4.676, Planning Phase with 4.467, then Evaluation Phase with 4.426, and lastly, Research Phase with 4.245.
