Abstract/Summary
Abstract. The study is focused on evaluating the responses of some existing bridges in Metro Manila, particularly Tullahan Bridge, Sevilla, and Don Galo-La Huerta Bridge when subjected to a design flood of 50-year frequency.
The analysis will present Hydrologic and Hydraulic computations pertaining to the bridgesite. The Rational Method was utilized, as it is one of the simplest and most popular methods used for Highway Drainage Design. Additionally, due to lack of data in Metro Manila, only an estimation of flow, by means of the Rational Method is the best approach.
The output of the study shows that among the three bridges under study, Tullahan Bridge receives the most floods during rainy seasons.
