Abstract/Summary

Ko and Company, Incorporated is a firm that specializes in the manufacturing of the Hard Rock. It is a magazine rack that has two components, namely: the cloth bag, which comes in attractive designs, and the wooden frame.

The corporation's primary target market comprises female employees and students, whose ages range from 14 to 48 years. The secondary target market will be composed of students from De La Salle University, and furthermore, the family, friends and relatives of the proponents. The proponents set the price level at P 279.95, using the cost-based pricing strategy wherein a mark-up of 48.40% is added to the product's unit cost. This price is lower than what the competitors offer and, at the same time, it makes available profit to the proponents.

The corporation will have a ten-month term of existence, which will commence in October 2000 and terminate on August 2001. During this period, the firm will accomplish all the necessary corporate activities from incorporation to dissolution. Based on the corporation's financial study, it will have a Return on Investment (ROI) of 182.68%, a Return on Assets (ROA) amounting to 64.63% and Return on Equity of 64.63%. Moreover, it will have a net income of P 42748.94. The results gathered in the financial study are favorable, it ascertains that the corporation is profitable, thus, strengthening the proponents' study that the corporation is feasible. The proponents recommend the implementation of the project after ascertaining the favorable results of the study. The proponents will venture into the business with not only profit in mind, but more significantly, to uphold social causes.
