Abstract/Summary

Oreiler Corporation is a company consisting of 10 members enrolled in the Business Management course major in Entrepreneurship at De La Salle University. Galactic Dreams pillow is an elongated one with a shiny metallic clothe that serve as the covering. Its filling is made of styrobeads that gives it a unique feeling when you hug it because it contours to the shape of your body. The plant site of the corporation is located at 046 Bldg. A Paoville Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The proponents used the plant site in holding meetings and manufacturing the product.

The primary market of the Galactic Dreams pillow are the households coming from Binangonan Village, Casa Verde, Palladium, Victoria Subdivision. Silverhomes, Tahanan Village and Valle Verde V. These villages were chosen because of the familiarity and accessibility of the proponents. The proponents conducted a survey in these villages because they have the purchasing power.

The corporation would market the product by selling it at a reasonable price of P 250.00. The production cost of the Galactic Dreams pillow is P 160.72 and its mark-up is 35.71%. Galactic dreams would be sold at department stores, supermarkets, bazaars, public markets and through personal selling. The promotional tools applied in selling the product are by web page, business cards, posters and flyers. The proponents conducted time and motion study using the assembly line method as its manufacturing process.

The proponents made use of corporation as a form of ownership because of its advantages of limited liability, ease of raising capital and transfer of ownership. A functional organizational structure was used by the proponents to ensure order in the company. The chart also presented the positions of the proponents together with its duties and responsibilities to prevent overlapping. The corporation will exist for a period of ten months. Each incorporator also owns at least one share of the capital stock of the corporation. The proponents also prepared their own general and administrative program in order for them to follow.

A financial study was made to determine whether the project would be profitable even with existing competition and unfavorable economic conditions. It also gives the allocations on budget and would give an idea on the financial status of the company based on the financial statements. The amount of capitalization required for each proponents would be P 3,000.00. This would be used to purchase necessary tools, supplies, and materials needed in the production process and selling of Galactic Dreams and to compensate for expenses incurred.

The benefits of the Oreiller Corporation in its production and sale of Galactic Dreams pillow are presented in its socio-economic study. This study is important to society because it gives students an idea on how a company operates and be beneficial. It also helps the proponents to encourage them to become goods entrepreneurs and start their own business. It will serve as a proof on their ability and train them to become good and effective managers. The corporation also presented its environments benefits in utilizing their resources and have waste disposal properly.
