Abstract/Summary
Traffic is a major problem in our country today. The traffic lights direct the flow of traffic in the streets and proper usage of these things can help minimize the traffic problem. The Improved Traffic Management System (ITMS) will make sure, at least improve how these traffic lights operate. With the use of computers, sensors, and cameras, the system can maximize the capability of the traffic lights in directing traffic by constantly changing the timer settings of the traffic lights in accordance to the current traffic situation. Of course, it is not advisable for systems such as these to work all alone. Human intervention is needed, but depending only in the situation wherein the system is not capable of handling. Constant analysis on traffic situations can further improve the system thus, minimizing traffic even more. Discipline in the part of road users such as pedestrians, commuters and drivers play an important role too in solving the traffic problem of the country.
