Abstract/Summary

Having the Internet as the primary technology that modern times have known, work and transactions became faster. Different services are offered, helping everyone to have access to more than a hundred topics anywhere and anytime of the day.

This paper presents the different aspects that affects the importance of the Internet. In the study, it has been found out that almost all of the respondents from the selected industries have less than 5% access to the use of the Internet. And given the chance to use the Internet, they just use it for E-mail and information gathering--not much on Internet advertising or E-commerce. But given the budget and the passing of the financial crisis, they are more than willing to invest in Internet Advertising and E-Commerce. They perceived this as important because it will make their business to grow even more. Not just in terms of profit but in terms of customer recognition as well.

Aside from knowing and realizing the importance of Internet Advertising and E-commerce, the respondents also are willing to go into having their own web page. This web page can serve as a window through which customers and prospective clients can look into and know more about companies and industries. Even though they are not active Internet marketing, again, giving the proper resources, they are willing to be more active in the use of the Internet. This is also related to their knowledge that Internet will be more important in the future as it is now.

With this, it is a recommendation that WPI tap into willing markets or industries wherein they can give the services they are offering. They can also serve as consultants to those who are still in the process of thinking whether to further develop their programs or not.
