Abstract/Summary

Sexual harassment is any unwelcome, unwanted or uninvited requests for sexual favors and other verbal, nonverbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. (Republic Act 7877). It is an act that stems from sexual objectification- i.e. when a person's sexuality is used by another person as a vehicle to treat him/her as less than moral equals (Le Moncheck, 1985). And perpetuated through the abuse of power-when submission to or rejection of such favors is made as a condition for employment, and others. Women, conceived as subordinates to men in this conservative society, are more vulnerable to sexual harassment.
