Abstract/Summary
This study described and explored the perceptions regarding familial and extra-familial relations of the residents of Pook Labasin, Tiaong, Quezon after the Villa Escudero resort was established. The data gathered from key informant interviews and focus group discussions, prove that the experience of Pook Labasin residents is quite similar to other communities. The findings showed that the residents experienced some changes in their familial relations, particularly in their occupations and socio-economic status. It showed that as the level of occupation increased so does the income which was the basis for socio-economic status. On the other hand, there was little change in the extra-familial relations of the residents, specifically, residents' sense of community, quality of life, work relations with management, and extra-community relations.`
