This paper is an exposition on misconceptions and applications of the Golden Ratio. It discusses the independent sets in graphs and their relation to the famous golden ratio. It also discusses some misconceptions about golden ratio. The results were obtained using the concepts of Fibonacci sequence and Lucas sequence.
