Abstract/Summary

A study was conducted to isolate, describe and identify intestinal helminths infecting Chanos chanos (common name: milkfish) obtained from Cavite City public market. Flushing method was used to separate the flukes from the organ. Out of one hundred intestines examined only one was found infected with trematode. The six sample specimen collected were fixed in 10% formalin solution, washed, dehydrated and stained with Borax-Carmine, and later mounted into slides using Canada balsam. Using the dichotomous key of Velasquez (1975) the specimen was identified as Pseudometadena sp.
