Abstract/Summary

A total of 50 Tilapia nilotica samples weighing 200 to 300 grams were collected from different fish pens inside Laguna Lake. Collection of samples were done for ten weeks, five fish samples per week. The period of collection was from April 13, 1997 to September 14, 1997. Examination of the intestines revealed one kind of helminthic parasite. The isolated helminth belongs to Phylum Acanthocephala, Class Eoacanthocephala, Order Neoechinorhychidea. Eleven (22%) of the 50 samples were infected with Acanthocephala.
