Abstract/Summary
Plants have been a source of medicine for humans an animals for thousands of years because of the chemical compounds present in these species. With this study, the chemical constituents of Duiro zibethinus Murr. are isolated and elucidated through gravimetric column chromatography, thin layer chromatography and one-dimensional proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. The dichloromethane extract of the exocarp contained a mixture of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol, and β-sitosteryl-3β-glucopyranoside-6'-0-fatty acid esters. As for the carpel, the isolated and eluciated compounds obtained were a mixture of triacylglycerol, a mixture of β-sisosterol and stigmasterol and β-sitosteryl- 3β-glucopyranoside-6'-0-fatty acid ester. Succeedingly, the isolates from the flesh were able to afford mixture of triacglycerol, fatty acid methyl esters and monogalactosyl diacglycerol. Lastly, the isolates from the seeds yielded a mixture of triacylglycerol, a mixture of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol and β-sitosteryl-3β glucopyranoside-6'-0-fatty acid ester.
