Abstract/Summary
This study aims to provide a safer and automated weight machine system for physical rehabilitation patients by modifying a Smith machine. The researchers will utilize electromagnets that will be a better substitute for plates used in weight resistance. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) is available for patients to customize the automated routine manager according to their specific needs. The electromagnetic weight machine will be in a modified smith machine form that will provide safety for its users. The concept of electromagnetic brakes will be used to ensure that accidents, such as accidental dropping of bars, will be prevented. The researchers' electromagnetic weigh machine will be certified by a physical therapist and a gym equipment company for its usage.
