Abstract/Summary
During rice grain storage, pesticides were applied to minimize loss of grain quality. One of the pesticides that is currently being used is Coopex, a pyrethrum type of insecticide. Quality of Coopex-sprayed rice grains as affected by the duration of storage was determined using % germination, % moisture, sugar and starch contents as parameters. Results showed that during the 5 weeks of storage, the pesticide did not significantly affect the % germination, % moisture, sugar and starch contents of the grain.
