Abstract/Summary
A Java-based FDTD code is developed in designing PCF waveguide for THz radiation delivery. Users need only to access a Java-enabled browser to run the FDTD code. Java-capable programs are typically portable with most popular operating systems. Security issues are also resolved since the application runs in a sandbox that prevents other users updating the computed data. Computer simulation of THz electromagnetic wave includes time-resolved wave propagation and resonant frequency calculation along the axial direction of the PCF waveguide. However, THz propagation loss due to material absorption of the PCF waveguide in not covered in the calculation.
