Abstract/Summary
Four brands of canned luncheon meat were analyzed for their total plate count and for the presence of Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp., Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium sp.. Three cans of each brand were tested.
Results showed that all of the canned luncheon meat tested were negative for any microorganism. They conformed to the microbial standards set by the Bureau of Food and Drugs.
