Abstract/Summary

The study on The Effectiveness of risk management in mitigating the business risks present in the ordinary transactions of pawn broking companies was guided by the general objective to assess the effectiveness of the risk management techniques applied in mitigating the business risks present in the ordinary transaction of pawn broking companies. The research was further guided by four specific objectives. These were: one, to identify the business risks and its sources associated with the typical transactions two, to measure the probability of the different business risk's occurrences three, to determine the companies' techniques implemented to address the business risks identified and four, to evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management techniques being practiced by the pawn broking companies.
