Abstract/Summary

PERT/CPM is perhaps the most widely used project management tool. PERT/CPM is used as the basis of project scheduling and implementation.

This project of developing a software for project planning using PERT/CPM formulas was decided upon to present the basic concepts of project management and to ease the computational load on the users of PERT/CPM.

In our world, where growth and development depends largely on our economic stability and progress, we must utilize whatever resources we have, whatever the amount may be. In striving to attain the various goals, it is not a question of whether resources are limited or not, but in how we utilize them to suit the requirements to the fullest that counts. The much vaunted resources wherein our attention lies the most, are time and cost, broken down into many parts to constitute the whole. To satisfy the afformentioned, we have to research on the theories, formulas used in PERT/CPM, the method of data collection for input and the expected output of the software.

Keeping these factors in mind, we have tried to come up with a package which will fulfill the time and cost reduction on the part of the user and hopefully be able to reach their expectations."
