Abstract/Summary

Education plays a vital role in almost everyone's life for it helps shape the mind and attitude of any individual. Due to this, De La Salle University aims to provide the best education for its students. One way to achieve this is by applying the latest technologies in the field of education. The latest technology that can be applied now in teaching is known as Multimedia. Multimedia has the capability of incorporating various forms of media elements such as text, sound, graphics and animation. Using multimedia, the proponents aimed to design and develop an instructional tool on selected database topics. This tool would aid the instructors in teaching difficult or hard to explain topics like Database.

With the development of the system, the objectives are to identify topics that will be covered, to collect materials and sources that will be used, to produce illustrations or presentations on concepts and notations, to develop interactive modular exercises problems or cases with solutions and explanations and to evaluate the effectiveness of using this Instructional Tool for Selected Database Topics in teaching or learning database concepts. User's Manual and Technical Manual are also provided to the user for references in knowing or using the system."
