Abstract/Summary
In the study, the researchers developed several models to explain student performance in Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting courses in De La Salle University - Manila. A multiple regression analysis showed that the factors significantly affecting student performance in Financial Accounting courses, for those who passed on the first take, are the Judging/Perceiving personality type variable, basic accounting grades, and Math Grades the factors significantly affecting student performance in Financial Accounting courses for those who took them more than once are the Extraversion/Introversion personality type variable and basic accounting grades and the factors significantly affecting student performance in Cost Accounting Courses for students who passed them in one take are basic accounting grades and math grades. No factors included in the research significantly affect student performance in Cost Accounting courses for those who took them more than once. Basic accounting grades seem to explain the result in the performances of students in Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting courses, and the researchers attributed this to the basic accounting courses being the foundation for future accounting courses.
