Four improvised culture media namely papaya peeling dextrose agar (PPDA), mango peeling dextrose agar (MPDA), guava peeling dextrose agar (GPDA), and saba peeling dextrose agar (SPDA) were used in comparing the growth rate, dry weight (g), and thickness of Auricularia polytricha mycelia with potato dextrose agar (PDA).None of the improvised culture media can serve as a substitute for PDA in cultivation of A. polytricha
