Abstract/Summary

This study looks at the feasibility of the one-term extension of the De La Salle University (DLSU) Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Program. This extension makes the program a full four years, incorporating the required units of the CHED Memorandum Order No. 03, series of 2007 and relieving the stress of its students to some extent. This study examines the market, technical, management, financial and socio-economic feasibilities of said extension. The market study focuses on the marketability of the program to senior high schools students and the employability of its graduates to accounting firms. The technical study focuses on the requisites for the extension of the program, the resources needed and said resources’ availability. The management study sets up an organizational chart in order to adapt to the program and it identifies the responsibilities of individuals who are involved with the extension. The financial study projects the monetary benefits of the extension to the university. The socio-economic study looks at the overall benefits and costs to various stakeholders. The results indicate a clear feasibility of the one-term extension, thus the researchers recommend its implementation.
